rooibos tea
|
Rooibos or 'red bush' tea comes from a South African plant. Rooibos tea
has been popular in South Africa for many generations. In recent years its
popularity has spread. Like black tea, rooibos is brewed with boiling
water but is usually steeped longer. Often described as sweet and nutty,
rooibos is usually enjoyed by South Africans with milk and sugar. In
Europe and America rooibos is usually served without any additives.
High in antioxidants and caffeine free, rooibos has recently become popular in
Western countries for its health benefits. We like the smooth, delicious
taste that is equally delicious by itself or blended with other botanicals.
Rooibos, colloquially known as Red Tea, is an herbal plant that grows in South
Africa. Rooibos is a flavorful, caffeine-free alternative to tea for those
seeking to eliminate caffeine intake. Ours is a top-grade, organic African
tea.
For best results, allow tea leaves to circulate freely while steeping. You
can use an infuser basket or just add the loose tea to the teapot and strain
while serving.
Teas are best when used within one year of purchase. To protect teas from
the damaging effects of air and light, tea should be stored in opaque, airtight
containers. We use resealable foil bags that keep your tea fresh and
delicious.
